See our new rostering tools in actions

On 31 July we are providing an overview of our latest automated rostering tool. This has been over nine months in development, and builds on a range of enhancements we have made to HosPortal over the last two years.

We have had automated roster-building for some time now. Things pour automated roster-building algorithm can do today are:

  • Consider users’ preferences regarding shifts they would like to do, and days they are unavailable.

  • Consider your facility’s work rules (limits on the number of hours and shifts people can work) and shift conflict rules (interactions between different shifts and rosters).

  • Set sophisticated shift quotas based on different types of shifts and different approaches to what is fair.

  • Allow you to manually tweak auto-generated rosters before publishing them.

  • Automate the process of gathering and checking preferences.

The key features we are excited to share in our webinar are two significant enhancements:

  • The ability to build rosters with any types of shift patterns. Not just simple ones (for instance, that the same person must do the Saturday and Sunday shift), but also complex rolling patterns that can apply over any day of the week (‘I want to build my roster so that I generally have people on 4 night shifts in a row, but occasionally happy to have 3 nights in a row if necessary’)

  • A roster optimiser, that will generate many roster options and pick the best one automatically.
