New self-roster features

HosPortal’s powerful self-rostering features have been completely rebuilt to allow for the flexibility and power that our customers expect. Some of the new features include the ability to:

  • set points-based roster quotas of almost any type. We have already implemented systems where school holidays are worth more than other days, or where the value of Christmas and New Year days are double those of similar days at other times of the year.

  • combine multiple rosters into the one selection process, for instance if you need users to make selections across First On-call and Second On-call rosters.

  • track users’ selections in real time while the selection window is open and after the roster has been finalised, so you can see how many selections has each person made, what days are popular and what days are unfilled.

  • as a roster administrator, start building a draft roster before all the preferences are complete.

  • have more flexibility over reminders and communications to your users, to reduce uncertainty and maximise participation.

  • have more flexibility regarding both selection-based rostering (where people select their shifts on a first-in-first-served basis…which is used by most of our private hospitals) and preference-based rostering (where people select preferences that are then used to assist build a roster somewhat automatically).

We would be delighted to show these off to see if we can help solve your rostering problems. We recently set up a new customer for their next quarterly roster so that users were selecting their shifts less than 4 days after us being asked to go ahead.

Administrators can see each user’s preferences on one page
