More time management functions

HosPortal is moving closer and closer to a full payroll function. As we have mentioned before, we started as a company to fill the important medical rostering gaps that payroll tools and government rostering software could not address. We are gradually covering many of the functions that they have traditionally provided, making HosPortal a one-stop shop for rostering and staffing needs.

In addition to work rules, recent improvements as part of Release 30 include:

  • Ability to define FTE (full-time equivalent) status of employees. A person who works 2 days per week can be defined as 40% FTE.

  • Ability to use the FTEs to pro-rate other roster obligations. Administrators now have the option to:

    • multiply maximum allowable working hours by the FTE status to automatically prohibit over-working of part-time staff.

    • use FTE to automatically calculate fair shift quotas, with 100% FTE staff assigned twice as many shifts as 50% FTE staff.

  • See total rostered working hours on any roster page. HosPortal will calculate and report on any shifts over any visible date range. Change the visible range (e.g. from a 2-week payroll period to a 1-month period) and HosPortal will automatically update the reported hours.
