The league table of medical specialties

In Australia, as for most countries, anaesthetists (anaesthesiologists for US-based readers) make up about 12-15% of all specialist doctors. So it is no surprise that HosPortal is dominant in rostering anaesthesia departments across Australia.We are also strong in rostering physicians (about 25% of all specialists, but the largest physician sub-specialty - 'general medicine' - is actually less than 5%), surgeons (about 15%, but again with the largest sub-specialty of general surgery being about 5%), and radiologists (about 5%).One area where we have had less traction is psychiatrists. They make up about 10% of all specialists, have similar rostering needs in public and private practice, and have similar requirement for managing staff consultants, VMOs and trainees. So we hope that HosPortal will be well received by this new audience.
