New releases - Xmas presents for everyone!
The team at HosPortal has had a massive year or so. We started with the launch of our brand new rostering software in 2022 after almost 3 years of development. Then the team got excited about how powerful and flexible it is to then roll out a bunch of new changes, improvements and added functions in the latter part of 2022.
We were all delighted when the bosses decided to give the whole team a well-deserved month off over Christmas and New Year. Not realising that it would not stop them thinking up new ideas, so that everyone came back with a full list of to-dos in January. This is all a long-winded background to the fact that we have pushed out a bunch of changes since the last blogpost about release 17. We are now up to release 21.
Key features over the last few releases are mostly focused on functions that roster administrators have been asking for, or will make their lives easier. These include greater flexibility to make changes to existing rosters, greater functionality for self-roster processes, more places administrators can export data to Excel, and even more auditing and tracking features that give administrators increased confidence.
For our doctors and other users, there are two main changes they they might notice:
Self-rosters can how have blockouts, as we noted in our last post. So rather than having to put in 60 shift preferences over a long roster period, you can instead just block out a small number of shifts that you cannot do.
You can now be advised immediately if there is a change to one of your shifts, and roster administrators can set the alerts to fire when certain conditions are met (e.g. for certain rosters, or only if the shift occurs in the next 4 hours).
