National Day of Mourning - new public holiday

Australia has declared 22 September 2022 a public holiday to hold a National Day of Mourning for the late Queen Elizabeth II, to be recognised by all of Australia's states and territories.

We have added the day as a state public holiday to all Australian regions and it will be now shown on your rosters. It will not affect any shifts that are already in draft or published state, and will only take effect if drafting or published shifts from the template.

If you are not treating the day as a public holiday

If you are not treating this day as a public holiday then there is nothing more to do: your shifts will remain as they were. You can change the status of shifts between draft and published without affecting the structure of the shift.

To adopt the public holiday

If your facility is amending some or all activities to recognise the holiday then you will need to delete the relevant shifts on 22 September and re-publish them to create the new structure, timing and staffing. You can choose to do this for some or all of your shifts.

How to create new shifts on 22 September

If you want to create a new shift on 22 September as if it was not a public holiday you may need to add it as an ad hoc shift: rather than publish it from the template you will need to add it as a one-off shift with the appropriate timing and staffing structure. See our help pages if you need assistance with adding an ad hoc shift.

Self-rosters that are currently underway

If you are running a self-roster process to select shifts over dates that include 22 September then you will need to get in touch so we can assist you decide what to do. Use the smiley-face button to contact our team.
